05/03/19 - Unit 4


Specific - Map layout design

Measurable - Can see the progress made in the room.

Achievable -1 Room for town area using placeholders.

Realistic - Needs to be done as a prerequisite for making the tile-sets. This will later be used to make an interesting location for the player to explore.

Timely -  to complete before midday, may leave room for additional task.




I achieved my goal and have uploaded to my teams google drive so that Luke will be able to access it when he begins working on the tile-set.

The progress was quick and while designing me and my team were able to flesh out the idea a bit more, e.g. deciding if the buildings would be enter-able.




















19/03/19 - Unit 4

Specific - Map layout design

Measurable - Can see the progress made in the room.

Achievable - 1 -  3 room layouts for the ice area.

Realistic - Needs to be done as a prerequisite for making the tile-sets. This will later be used to make an interesting location for the player to explore.

Timely -  Will take up the session



I completed 3 areas, which leaves one more room for the Ice area before it is completed.

I also came up with an idea on how to make the build up to the boss room more suspenseful, to improve the experience for the player.















26/03/19 - Unit 4

Specific - Map layout design

Measurable - Can see the progress made in the room.

Achievable -1 room layout for the ice area, then I will move onto an different area and make 2 - 4 room layouts.

Realistic - Needs to be done as a prerequisite for making the tile-sets. This will later be used to make an interesting location for the player to explore.

Timely -  Will take up the session

I was able to create the last level for the Ice area so the first part of my task was fulfilled.

However it took me longer to brainstorm a layout for the forest area, so I only managed to create 1 room instead of the minimum 2 I set for myself.






02/04/19 - Unit 4

Measurable - Can see the progress made in the room.

Achievable - Finish the remaining rooms for the Forest area.

Realistic - Needs to be done as a prerequisite for making the tile-sets. This will later be used to make an interesting location for the player to explore.

Timely -  Will take up the session


I was able to finish my task in this session and share it with my team.

















23/04/19 - Unit 4


Specific - Map layout design

Measurable - Can be measured by the amount designs produced.

Achievable - Finish the Canyon area designs

Realistic Needs to be done as a prerequisite for making the tile-sets. This will later be used to make an interesting location for the player to explore.

Timely - Will take up the session

Created some of the placeholder rooms, however I still need to complete the 3rd and Boss rooms. I will need to make up for this outside of sessions to ensure that we don't
fall behind schedule.





30/04/2019 - Unit 4


Specific - Map layout design

Measurable - Can be measured by the amount designs produced.

Achievable - Finish the remaining Canyon area designs and start making the forest with the finished tileset.

Realistic Needs to be done as a prerequisite for making the tile-sets. This will later be used to make an interesting location for the player to explore.

Timely - Will take up the session


I was able to finish and upload my designs for the canyon and complete the room for first room for the forest with the new tileset.


07/05/2019 - Unit 4

Specific - Map layout design

Measurable - Can be measured by the amount rooms made using the new tileset.

Achievable - Finish creating the final edit of the forest using the new tileset.

Realistic - Will be the final version of the area, and will be the version that the players would see. This will also mean that I would be able to shift my focus onto a different area in following sessions.

Timely - Will take up the majority of the session, may have time to start on the next task.
